Blogging about Her September 15 Nameday

Our very own Sister M. Dolorosa is spending her time of mission as a second-year novice working in the Office of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Check out her blog entry about why she celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows as her nameday.

You'll enjoy getting to know her better and learning more about our way of life through the eyes of a second-year novice.

Let us know what you think about what she has written!

You speak eloquently!
May you always trust and have the strength to endure come what may!
May our Blessed Mother comfort you in a very personal embrace of one who chooses to follow Her mercy filled heart!
May your mission time be one that is very positive for you and provide greater depth of purpose for you in Community!

Dear Sister M. Dolorosa,

Thank you so very much for sharing a portion of your life. The more I read the more I realize how much beauty there is in the religious life. It is a lifestyle to envy (from what I read!). I can only pray that there will be answers to prayer for more young ladies to listen (and answer!) to God's calling and that there will be equal numbers of spiritual directors available to those in discernment. Thank you again for the very apparent beauty that flows from your soul in your writting.

Days of Abundance!

August 2 and 3 brought great joy to our community as we welcomed three new novices, celebrated the first profession of four sisters and the final profession of six sisters.  While the number of people gathered in St. Mary's Church was certainly smaller than we would have liked, we were blessed by thousands who joined the livestreams to join us in giving thanks to God for the gifts of our sisters.   Visit   www.altonfranciscans.org/feastday   to view pictures and videos of the occasion.
